Quickest Way to Open a Bookmark on Firefox (Windows)
Open bookmarks in Firefox 50% faster using Microsoft PowerToys.

You just want to open a bookmark on Firefox, and you want to do it quickly.
Sadly, Firefox makes this a bit difficult for us.
The Firefox Way
The quickest out-of-the box way I found, is to do the following:
- Ctrl + T to open a new tab
- Type '* ' (that's * followed by a space) into the "Awesome"bar
- Type part of the name or URL of the bookmark, for instance 'gmail'
- Press Tab to select the first result
- Hit Enter
While this gets the job done, I find it to be frustratingly slow.
So I spent an unreasonable amount of time today to try and figure out how to do this more quickly!
And I am happy to report I found a way:
The Fastest Way (Known to Me)
First, we need to do some setup:
- Install Microsoft PowerToys
- Launch it and disable all disable all the modules apart from 'PowerToys Run':

- Download and install PowerToysRun-FirefoxSearch
- Restart Microsoft PowerToys
Now we are ready to open a Firefox bookmark QUICKLY:
- Alt + Tab to Open PowerToys Run
- Type 'ff ' that's 'ff' followed by a space
- Type part of the name of your bookmark or it's URL
- Hit Enter

This will open a new tab in your current Firefox window.
Why is this faster than the Firefox native way?
- Alt + Tab is faster to press than Ctrl + T
- 'ff' is faster to type than '*'
- We don't need to select the bookmark result through pressing Tab
These together add up and I think it saves me around 50% of the time. Nothing insignificant for an action I do dozens of times per day.
